Sunday March 16 Sketchbook Field Trip

$20.00

The March sketchbook field trip is Sunday, March 16 1pm - 3pm.

We will sketch at Suzzallo Library at the University of Washington.

In 1927 the Suzzallo Library opened to great acclaim—the reading room “is pronounced by experts to be the most beautiful on the continent and is ranked among the most beautiful in the world.” Built in 1927, it is the campus cathedral—a soaring exterior of 11 monumental stained glass windows, framed by Gothic-inspired statues, arches and buttresses made of terra cotta, cast stone and brick. Inside is the most voluminous library reading room in the nation—65 feet high, 52 feet wide and 250 feet long—a sanctuary for learning.

Learn how to get in the habit of sketching your world. Keeping a written and visual journal of one’s life is an enriching practice of self- expression. Some field trips will include lessons and demos and sometimes we will meet at a location and just dive into sketching. Each field trip ends with a “show & tell” session where we can all share our sketches.

All skill levels welcome.
