Workshops

I offer watercolor, drawing, and sketchbook classes for adults, children and teens in addition to monthly sketchbook field trips and wine & watercolor parties throughout the Seattle area. I also offer international workshops and tours as well. Some focused on sketching, others focused on art history, food, wine, wellness and the good life. Come join me!

Lessons are designed to help students gain confidence and experience with developing watercolor and drawing skills and encourage a sketchbook habit. Lessons are tailored to the age, skill level, and goals of each student.

I believe that through art and play adults and children alike are able to understand their world and to establish connections to different areas in their life. Through art we are better able to understand and appreciate the world around us. I am passionate about my own work as an artist and I bring that enthusiasm to my teaching.

Let’s paint these sweet little sparrows!

After I receive your registration, I will email you the reference photos for this project so that you can print them out before class. In class, we will learn drawing basics, get our sparrows drawn and then get to painting.

The invitation link to join the class on Zoom will be sent to you around 9:45am on the day of our class, 15 minutes before class starts. Have your reference photos printed out and your supplies set up. We will jump right in.

All skill levels welcome.

Below is the list of supplies I used for this painting. Feel free to use your own favorite supplies if you prefer.

Arches Cold Press Watercolor Paper 90 lbs (15 x 10 in./38 x 25 cm. ). This is paper in my handmade watercolor sketchbook. If you don’t have 90 lbs paper on hand, feel free to use 140 lbs. That’s even better.

Pencil (2H or lighter is best) and kneaded eraser

Watercolor brushes
