Some information about me: I am... A FINE ARTIST. I have loved to create things with my hands as far back as I can remember. Now primarily I sketch, draw and paint watercolors.  A SKETCHBOOK FANATIC. I love to capture the world in my sketchbooks. And I love to share my sketchbook addiction with others. WARNING: it’s contagious.  AN ART INSRUCTOR: I have been teaching drawing, painting and sketch booking ever since I realized that I could make a career doing what I actually love. I teach at several art schools, colleges and a local gallery. I also offer sketchbook workshops around the world. Best. Gig. Ever. A PHOTOGRAPHER. I started photographing in earnest in high school and have not stopped since then. I’ve explored Polaroid Transfers, documented a ghost town in Eastern Oregon, created a series of photographs from old retired trains, and have an ongoing series of portraits, titled Life Stories.  On occasion, if a project is compelling, I will also photograph commercially and you can see my photography website here.  AN AUTHOR of sorts: I’ve published my A - Z Sketchbook and one of my travel sketchbooks.  Learn more, see more, buy a copy here.  For me the art of creating is what brings me joy. After I’m done creating my work, hopefully it brings joy to others as well. Buy your happiness here.  Can’t get enough? Click here to see a list of my current exhibits and news and her for links to my artist resume, my artist statement, and my bio. Jon Ishimoto

Jon Ishimoto is a fictitious photographer with a knack for looking totally legit. He puts the 'hip' in hipster and the 'wanna' in wannabe.

Unless otherwise noted, the images on this site were taken by the greatly talented and always humble Colin Hughes. The images in the landing portfolio were taken for London-based fashion illustrator and womenswear designer Evelina Romano to showcase pieces from her AW 12/13 line.
